School-Wide Communication

BlueBic allows you to send bulk messages to Students, Guardians, and Staff via SMS and Email.

Compose a Message

1. Navigate to Messages.
2. Click New Message.
3. Select Recipients:
   • Students: Sends to the student's own contact info.
   • Guardians: Sends to the parents linked to those students.
   • Employees: Internal staff announcements.
4. Select Channel:
   • Email: Free, supports Rich Text (Bold, Italic), unlimited length.
   • SMS: Costs "Units", plain text only, strictly limited character count.

SMS Constraints & Top-Ups

Character Limits

SMS is expensive and limited.

• 1 Page: 160 Characters.
• Concatenation: If you exceed 160, it counts as 2 pages (double cost).
• Clean Text: The system automatically strips formatting (Bold, Colors) from SMS.

Top-Ups

To send SMS, your school must have SMS Units.

1. Navigate to Messages > SMS Top-Ups.
2. View your balance and history.
3. Contact support to purchase more units.

Delivery Reports

You can track the status of every message sent:

• Delivered: Successfully reached the phone/inbox.
• Failed: Network error or invalid number.
• Pending: Queued by the provider.

Urgent info? Use SMS. Parents read texts instantly. Newsletters? Use Email. It's free and better for long content.
